Terms and Conditions

Shabad Love is a free seva project made for the Sangat. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay. These notes just explain, in plain language, how the app works and what you can expect from us — and what we'd gently ask of you. If anything here is unclear, please just message us.

Search and read Gurbani, do your Nitnem, receive the daily Hukamnama, study raags, taals and Sikh history, make shabad cards, keep notes and Pothis, and set reminders. Everything is free, ad-free, and always will be.

Donations are completely voluntary. You never need to give anything to use any part of the app. If you'd like to support the seva, you can give once or set up a recurring donation.

• No donation is final. If you change your mind, gave the wrong amount, or gave by accident, just email us and we'll refund it — no explanation needed.
• Recurring donations can be cancelled any time through the link in your receipt email, or by asking us.
• Payments are handled by a secure payment provider. We never see or store your card details.

Whatever you save — notes, Pothi folders, favorites, reminders, history — is stored on your own device. There's no account and no profile. It's yours, and clearing the app's data removes it. Because it lives on your device, we can't recover it for you if it's deleted, so keep anything precious backed up too.

Please treat Gurbani and the app with respect: don't misuse it, don't try to break it for others, and don't use it to share content that's unlawful or hurtful. That's really the only rule.

Gurbani, translations and transliterations come from publicly available Sikh databases and belong to the Panth, not to us. The app's own design, code and branding belong to Shabad Love, and we're always happy to talk if you'd like to reuse something.

We work hard to get every akhar, translation and detail right, but errors can slip in. For anything theological or ceremonial, please rely on authoritative sources and your local Sangat. If you spot a mistake, tell us through Help us improve — we fix them quickly and gratefully.

We'll keep the app free, keep improving it, and keep it respectful of your privacy. We can't promise it will never have a bug or downtime, and we can't be held responsible for any loss that comes from using it — but we will always try to make it right.

Shabad Love is made for the whole Sangat, children included. We don't collect personal information beyond what's needed for the features you use, and families are very welcome to use it together.

If we update anything here, the newest version will always be on this page with the date at the top.
